Dr. Humbert is scientific director and co-founder of Quantis, an life cycle assessment (LCA) consulting company. He received his Ph.D. in Life Cycle Assessment from the University of California, Berkeley: he calculated new characterization factors from primary and secondary particulate emissions, which are now recommended by the European Commission in its new PEF/OEF methodology to assess impacts on human health from particulate emissions. This characterization factors were partly modeled based on USEtox. He contributes to the dissemination of USEtox, and especially to its intergration in the context of comprehensive LCA, along with other impact categories, through training course and projects such as the different pilots of Product and Organization Environmental Footprint (PEF/OEF) which uses USEtox as one of the core model. He has 14 years of experience in LCA.
